The site Orizaba (Proquina S.A. de C.V.) of Bayer is located in Mexico. Steroid chemistry activities go back to 1963 when the production of steroid intermediates and APIs began based on the root of the barbasco plant that grew abundantly in the region. Proquina has over 45 years of experience in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates (mainly steroid hormones) and uses a modern production infrastructure for its chemical processes. The company supplies products to Bayer’s internal and external customers.
